This Point Piper estate was transformed into a light and luxurious modern masterpiece, crafted with sensitivity and precision. Through complex, concurrent stages of construction, the build carefully considers the interplay of different materials.
This estate seamlessly blends traditional character with modern sophistication. The original 1959 home was expanded to incorporate additional living spaces, while carefully respecting its Mediterranean-inspired architecture.
Through complex, concurrent stages of construction, the build carefully considered the interplay of different materials to deliver a refined result. The internal spaces were entirely reconfigured, stripped or removed to give greater function to the living space, and significant groundworks were undertaken to expand the home.
Externally, a large pool pavilion, tennis court, ornate ponds, and landscaped gardens were designed to complement the home. A new 10-car garage, workshop, and plant room required significant excavation, concrete work, and innovative structural detailing, including a tunnel bored from the house to the garage through solid sandstone.
The interiors feature luxurious materials and finishes, from Pietra Blanc marble and Calacatta mosaics to chevron-striped American Oak flooring, antique chandeliers, and custom joinery. Classic detailing, including plaster fluting, timber mouldings, and bespoke stonework, contrasts with contemporary elements like ebonised timber, glass panels, and brass accents.
